1. Overview

The Crossbar Challenge is a competition organised by Crossbar Challenge UK Limited ("the Organiser").

The Organiser partners with football clubs across the UK who use our platform to offer fans the opportunity to enter the competition. Clubs receive 50% of paid ticket sales revenue, and the Organiser covers all prize money, set-up costs and administration fees.

Fans may enter through a paid online route or a free postal entry route (see Section 6). Both routes carry an equal chance of being drawn.

One (1) winner is drawn 15 minutes into the match. The drawn participant will then attempt to hit the crossbar from the penalty spot three (3) times at half-time. Entries can be made up to the draw time (note: postal entries must be received no later than 24 hours before the match — see Section 6).

Winners will be notified by text message and announced on our website 15 minutes into the match. The drawn participant must present themselves to a club official or steward before 40 minutes into the match. If they do not do so, a reserve participant (also drawn and notified at the same time) will be invited to take part instead.

Once drawn, the competition is a game of skill — prizes are determined solely by the participant's ability to hit the crossbar. No refunds are issued for entries once the draw has taken place.

2. Eligibility

• Open to UK residents aged 18 or over.
• Proof of the winning entry (displayed on phone or postal confirmation) must be shown to the MC or match official before participating.
• Proof of age and identity is required before any prize is paid.
• Employees, agents and affiliates of the Organiser, and professional footballers, are not eligible.
• By entering, participants confirm they are fit and capable of safely taking part.
• Balls used are size 5 and checked by the MC or match official before each challenge.

3. Entry and Fees

There are two routes to enter the competition:

• Paid entry: £4 per ticket, purchased via the website. No cash entries are accepted.
• Free postal entry: See Section 6 for full details. One free entry per envelope; unlimited envelopes permitted.

Both paid and free entries carry an equal chance of being drawn. The draw system does not distinguish between entry routes.

One (1) winner is drawn digitally 15 minutes into the match from all valid entries. The drawn participant is entitled to three (3) kicks from the penalty spot (12 yards), aiming for the crossbar only (not the posts).

Participants may purchase an unlimited number of paid tickets to increase their chances of being drawn. Away fans may also enter the competition via either route.

The MC or club officials will determine which end of the pitch is used for the kicks.

Entries are non-transferable and restricted to those aged 18 or over.

All paid entry fees are non-refundable, except where an event is cancelled by the Organiser.

4. How the Challenge Works

• Each drawn participant takes three (3) shots from the penalty spot (12 yards).
• The ball must be stationary and kicked from the penalty spot.
• A valid hit is when any part of the ball directly strikes any part of the crossbar.
• Strikes that only reach the crossbar after deflecting off the post, the ground, or another surface do not count.
• The first point of contact between the ball and the crossbar on a single kick counts as the hit; any subsequent bounces on the same kick do not count as additional hits.
• No practice attempts are permitted.
• All claims are verified via event footage before payout.
• The MC or match official's decision is final.

5. Prizes

League Clubs (Top 4 Tiers)

• 1 crossbar hit = £250
• 2 crossbar hits = £1,000
• 3 crossbar hits = £3,000

Only the highest applicable prize tier is paid (prizes are not cumulative).

Prizes are paid by bank transfer within 7 working days. The Organiser will contact all winners within 48 hours of the match.

Entries are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.

Tiers 5 to 9 follow the Non-League Club terms — see Section 12.

6. Free Postal Entry Route

No purchase is necessary to enter this competition.

A free postal entry route is available to all UK residents aged 18 or over. This route is equally available alongside the paid entry route and carries an identical chance of being drawn.

(a) Who May Enter

Open to UK residents aged 18 or over. Proof of age and identity will be required if drawn.

(b) How to Enter by Post

Send a plain envelope containing:

• Your full name
• Your full UK postal address
• Your date of birth
• Your contact mobile number and email address
• The statement: "I wish to enter Crossbar Challenge UK — free postal entry route for [match/event name and date]."

Envelopes must be postmarked no later than 7 days before the match and received no later than 24 hours before the match.

(c) Limitations

One (1) free postal entry per person, per event, per envelope. Unlimited envelopes are permitted (each containing one entry), posted at standard first- or second-class rates.

Paid entries (£4 each) are unlimited.

Invalid or incomplete entries will be rejected.

(d) If Drawn

Valid postal entrants will be contacted by text message to confirm their entry has been received. If drawn, they will be notified 15 minutes into the match (in the same way as paid entrants).

Drawn participants must be present at the ground at half-time in order to take part in the challenge. If the drawn participant is not present, a reserve will be selected. The Organiser accepts no responsibility for a drawn participant's ability to attend.

(e) Equal Treatment

Postal entrants take part under identical conditions to paid entrants. The draw system does not distinguish between entry routes. Prizes are awarded only for verified successful crossbar strikes during on-pitch play.

(f) Data Protection

Personal data submitted via postal entry is used only for verification, event management and prize delivery in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018. All postal entries are retained securely for 3 years and then destroyed.

7. Safety and Conduct

• Participants must follow all instructions from the MC, match officials and event staff.
• No metal studs. Approved footwear only.
• The Organiser may refuse entry to or disqualify any participant who is behaving unsafely, appears intoxicated, or displays unsporting conduct.
• All participants take part at their own risk.

8. Liability

The Organiser accepts no liability for personal injury, loss or damage arising from participation except as required by law.

Participants are responsible for their personal belongings.

Public liability insurance for spectators and event operations is maintained by the host club.

9. Photography and Media

By entering, participants consent to being filmed and photographed for verification purposes and for promotional use by the Organiser (including on the website, social media and in advertising materials).

All media produced remains the property of the Organiser.

Participants may opt out of promotional use by notifying event staff before their attempt. Verification footage will still be recorded regardless.

10. Season-Long Competition — "£10K From Halfway"

A separate season-long competition runs alongside regular matchday events.

Entry is available via two routes:

• Paid entry: £2 per ticket, purchased via the home page of the website.
• Free postal entry: Available on the same terms as matchday free postal entry (see Section 6). State "£10K From Halfway" as the event name.

Both routes carry an equal chance of being drawn. The draw system does not distinguish between entry routes.

Ten (10) winners will be drawn at the end of the season to take three (3) attempts each from the halfway line (centre spot).

• 1 successful crossbar hit = £10,000 prize.
• No additional payouts for multiple hits from halfway.
• In the event of more than one bar strike from halfway, the £10,000 prize is shared equally between all successful participants.

Each drawn participant will also receive one (1) additional strike from the penalty spot, with a prize of £100 for a successful hit.

The draw takes place on 26 May 2027. The physical halfway challenge will be held at a venue in central England during June 2027. The exact date and location will be confirmed after the draw.

All standard Crossbar Challenge rules apply.

11. Refunds and Cancellations

If weather or pitch conditions make play unsafe, the event may be cancelled or rescheduled at the Organiser's discretion.

Refunds of paid entry fees are only issued if an event is cancelled by the Organiser.

If a winner has been drawn but the host club does not hold the competition, the drawn participant will receive 50% of that event's paid ticket revenue (up to a maximum of £500) as compensation.

No other participants will receive compensation in these circumstances.

12. Non-League Club Version (Tiers 5 to 9)

The following terms apply to events held at Non-League clubs (Tiers 5 to 9). All standard rules apply (including free postal entry) except where modified below.

• Paid entry tickets cost £3 each, with unlimited entries permitted. No cash entries.
• One (1) winner is drawn 15 minutes into the match and notified by text message.
• A reserve is also drawn and notified at the same time.
• The drawn participant must present themselves to a club official before 40 minutes into the match and show proof of their winning entry. If they do not, the reserve will be invited to participate.
• The drawn participant takes three (3) kicks from the penalty spot, aiming for the crossbar.

Prize structure (Non-League — Tiers 5 to 9):

• If one or more crossbar hits are achieved, the participant wins 50% of the day's takings — i.e. 50% of total paid ticket sales for that match (no additional payout for multiple hits) — subject to a guaranteed minimum prize of £100. Where 50% of the day's takings is less than the guaranteed minimum, the Organiser pays the difference; the host club's share is unaffected.
• If the crossbar is hit, the host club receives 25% of the day's takings.
• If the crossbar is not hit, the host club receives 50% of the day's takings.
• The Organiser retains the remaining share to cover administration, set-up and event costs.

Winners must be aged 18 or over. Payment of winnings is made within 7 working days.

The MC or club official's decision is final.

By entering, participants consent to their name and image being used for promotional purposes.

All kicks must be recorded by a club official from the point the participant enters the pitch.

13. Data Protection

All personal information is handled in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Personal data is used only for:

• Event administration and draw management
• Identity and age verification
• Prize delivery
• Contacting participants regarding their entry

No personal data will be shared with or sold to third parties, except where required by law or for the purposes of payment processing.

14. Organiser's Rights

The Organiser reserves the right to:

• Amend, postpone or withdraw any competition at its discretion.
• Modify these Terms and Conditions where reasonably necessary. Significant changes will be communicated via the website.
• Make final and binding decisions on all matters relating to the competition.

15. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

16. Acceptance

By entering the competition (via either the paid or free postal route), you confirm that:

• You have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
• You understand the Organiser's decision is final on all matters relating to the competition.
